Feather Filler - Production Operative

Blue Arrow are looking for Feather Filling Operatives, or those with potential to learn, to join our customer located in Billingborough. They specialise in the manufacturing of quality cushion products for the furniture industry.

Feather Filling Operatives are expected to work efficiently in a fast-paced, repetitive environment necessary in the production of pillows and cushions with accuracy and speed to achieve company expectations necessary to meet and exceed customer demands.

This role involves wearing a respirator mask, since it can become quite dusty, and operating machinery, ensuring product quality, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities:

The Feather Filling Operative is responsible for filling various textile products, such as pillows and cushions, with feathers or other filling materials according to established production standards. Weighing and measuring feathers to achieve the specified product density.

This position places a strong significance on effective teamwork, clear communication, sound judgement, safety orientation, achieving and maintaining production efficiency and a dedication to the quality of our product.

All Feather Filling Operatives play a crucial role in meeting our customer requirements and are expected after initial training to perform with minimal supervision. Feather Filling Operatives may be asked to assist with other duties and work in other departments when needed to meet those requirements.

Essential skills/requirements:

* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

* Ability to read, write and follow directions

* Ability to count and apply basic math skills with or without a calculator

* Ability to work repetitive jobs at a fast pace.

* Own transport required.

* The business needs of the Company vary on an ongoing basis, and overtime may be required at short notice

* Our busy/peak periods will require substantial overtime including extra working days.

* Lead by Example and challenge everything that is not correct and improve on it.

Shift and Pay:

Monday to Thursday - 7am - 16:30pm

£13.50 per hour and £16.75 per hour overtime after 37.50 hrs per week.
