How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client is seeking a Quality Engineer to join its team in Fareham on a permanent basis. Working within an Aerospace engineering environment, the role will support quality activities through the development, implementation and maintenance of quality management systems, process improvements, audits and regulatory compliance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Develop and apply quality engineering tools, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), Gauge R&R, FMEA, Six Sigma, attribute charts and control plans
    Coordinate regular quality reviews and compile key performance indicators for presentation to management
    Investigate product, process and system quality issues through to resolution, working with internal and external stakeholders
    Participate in product recalls where required by regulatory or customer requirements
    Contribute to design reviews and new product introduction activities
    Compile, maintain and control company quality documentation
    Support the training and maintenance of certifying staff and self-certification programmes
    Complete business system and product audits in line with the scheduled audit plan
    Support the maintenance and progression of company approvals, including ISO 9001, EASA Part 21, AS9100 and customer-specific standards

    Job Requirements:

    Experience in quality engineering within an engineering, manufacturing or aerospace environment
    Engineering degree, HNC or equivalent practical experience
    Knowledge of aerospace engineering and regulatory requirements, including EASA and AS9100, would be advantageous
    Experience participating in PFMEA and 8D investigations
    Understanding of quality improvement methods, audit processes and root cause analysis
    Audit training, preferably to Lead Auditor level
    Strong IT skills, including practical experience with Excel, Word, Access and business software systems
    Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
    Ability to work collaboratively while managing quality activities and meeting business objectives

    This role is subject to applicable export control and ITAR compliance requirements. Eligibility and any necessary compliance checks will be assessed before employment begins. Unable to support with sponsorship on this position.
