How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: CNC Miller - Setter/Operator
    Location: Bilston
    Contract: Full-time, permanent
    Hours: Double Day Shifts:
    Monday-Thursday: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm
    Friday: 6am-11am / 11am-4pm
    Salary: Up to £17.00 per hour ( £20 per hour including shift allowance)

    Position Summary
    We are seeking experienced CNC Millers - Setter/Operators to join a precision engineering team. This hands-on role involves setting and operating Mazak CNC machines with Mazatrol controls, making program modifications as needed, and producing high-precision components for industries such as defence and aviation.

    Key Responsibilities

    Set up and operate Mazak CNC milling machines.
    Adjust offsets, change inserts, and perform tooling changes as required.
    Make modifications to programs to ensure components are produced to specification.
    Use driven tools and inspection equipment to verify quality and precision.
    Produce components for high-precision industries including defence and aviation.
    Maintain clean, organised work areas and follow health and safety procedures.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to support production targets and continuous improvement.
    Skills & Experience

    Previous experience setting and operating Mazak CNC machines.
    Familiarity with Mazatrol controls and basic program modification.
    Skilled in offset adjustments, tooling changes, and use of inspection equipment.
    Experience manufacturing components for defence or aviation industries preferred.
    Strong attention to detail, quality, and consistency.
    Reliable, proactive, and a good team player.
    Hours & Shift Pattern

    Preferably willing to work Double Day Shifts:

    Monday-Thursday: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm
    Friday: 6am-11am / 11am-4pm
    Remuneration & Benefits

    Hourly rate: £17 per hour, depending on skill and experience.
    Shift allowance: Additional 15% for applicable shifts.
    Overtime available:
    First 5 hours at x1.5
    Next 3 hours at x1.75
    o Additional overtime at x2
    7% company pension contribution
