How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    FIRE DOOR MAINTENANCE

    Location: Cheltenham
    Salary: £27.50 per hour
Sector: Fire Safety / Property Maintenance
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is a well-established provider of fire safety and property compliance services, working across residential, social housing and commercial premises. As part of their continued growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced Fire Door Maintenance to join their team, carrying out inspections, repairs and installations across a varied portfolio of properties.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled, safety-conscious tradesperson to join a business that takes fire safety compliance seriously, with steady, varied work and genuine job security.

    WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As a Fire Door Maintenance, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining fire doors across a range of properties, ensuring compliance with current fire safety legislation and standards.

Carry out routine fire door inspections in line with current legislation and industry standards (e.g. BS 8214, BM TRADA guidance).
Identify defects and non-compliance issues, including damaged frames, seals, hinges, glazing and ironmongery.
Carry out first and second fix repairs and adjustments to bring fire doors up to compliant standard.
Install new fire doors and associated door sets where required, ensuring correct specification and fitting.
Complete accurate inspection reports, defect logs and certification using a mobile device/handheld system.
Liaise professionally with clients, site staff, and residents where required, explaining findings and works clearly.
Work safely and in compliance with health and safety regulations and safe working practices at all times.
Manage your own workload and travel schedule to meet inspection and remedial works targets. WHAT OUR CLIENT LOOKING FOR

Proven experience in fire door inspection, maintenance, repair or installation.
A recognised fire door qualification (e.g. FDIS, BM TRADA Q-Mark, or equivalent) is desirable, though strong practical experience will be considered.
Good working knowledge of current fire door regulations and standards.
Carpentry or joinery background is highly advantageous.
Full UK driving licence, essential for travel between sites.
Comfortable working independently, managing your own diary and travel across a local or regional patch.
A conscientious, detail-focused approach, this work directly affects life safety, and precision matters. WHY JOIN OUR CLIENT

Steady, varied workload with genuine job security within an established and growing business.
    Company van and tools provided.
Ongoing training and support toward further fire door qualifications (e.g. FDIS certification) if not already held.
A supportive team environment with experienced colleagues and clear management structure.
Pension scheme, holiday entitlement, and standard employee benefits package.
