How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Beavertown Brewery, Enfield

    Full-time | On-site

    Reporting to: Technical Manager

Are you an experienced brewer who's obsessed with quality, driven by data, and never stops looking for a better way to brew? 🍻

At Beavertown, we brew world-class beer, consistently, brilliantly, and at scale and we're looking for a Technical Brewer to take ownership of technical brewing across our London sites.

This is a pivotal role where brewing science meets operational excellence. You'll be responsible for driving quality, reducing losses, improving efficiency, and ensuring every pint that leaves our brewery is the best it can possibly be.

If you're equally comfortable interpreting lab results, leading root cause investigations, optimising brewing processes, and coaching brewers on the shop floor, we'd love to hear from you.

    What you'll be doing

As our Technical Brewer, you'll be the go-to expert for technical brewing, partnering closely with teams across Production, Packaging, Quality and Engineering to continually raise the bar.

    Quality, Process & Performance

    • Own all aspects of technical brewing, from raw materials through to beer in trade
    • Deliver brewing quality and loss reduction KPIs across the brewery
    • Support technical beer-related issues within Packaging, including microbiological investigations
    • Lead and support root cause analysis (RCA) investigations across the site
    • Develop and deliver brewing trials to improve quality, efficiency and performance
    • Optimise brewing recipes to consistently deliver production targets and product quality standards
    • Drive improvements to CIP processes, reducing chemical usage while improving cleaning effectiveness
    • Create and develop systems that support KPI delivery and operational excellence
    • Lead and support brewing improvement projects, including CAPEX initiatives
    • Work closely with the Technical Manager to identify opportunities to reduce COGS and improve efficiency
    • Act as the key point of contact for brewing quality, losses and technical performance

    Leading the brewing team forward

Great beer is made by great people. You'll play an important role in developing technical capability across the brewing function by:

    • Coaching and supporting Production Brewers and Senior Brewers on best practice brewing techniques
    • Sharing technical expertise to improve consistency and quality across teams
    • Ensuring brewing standards and processes are understood and followed
    • Demonstrating leadership, positivity and the Beavertown way in everything you do
    • Helping build a culture of continuous improvement and curiosity

    About you

You're someone who takes ownership, enjoys solving problems, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.

    You'll likely:

    • Be highly analytical and data-driven in your decision-making
    • Have a passion for brewing science and beer quality
    • Communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels
    • Stay calm under pressure and react quickly when challenges arise
    • Be naturally curious and excited by new technologies, techniques and developments within brewing
    • Enjoy working collaboratively to achieve shared goals

    What you'll bring

    The essentials…

    • CIBD Diploma, MSc in Brewing, or equivalent qualification
    • Advanced understanding of brewing science, beer quality, brewing processes and brewing equipment
    • Strong ability to interpret laboratory and process data
    • At least 5 years' experience working within breweries
    • Experience operating in a technical brewing lead capacity
    • Strong record keeping and reporting skills
    • Good data management capability
    • Excellent organisation and time management skills
    • Intermediate Excel skills

    Even better if you have…

    • CIBD Master Brewer qualification
    • Engineering degree
    • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles
    • Experience using laboratory equipment and analytical methods
    • Experience in a brewing management or technical leadership role
    • Advanced Excel and Power BI skills

    Working arrangements

On-site at our state of the art brewery in Enfield

Full-time (office hours 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday), but with some flexibility around production operating hours.

    Why Beavertown?

If you're passionate about brewing, driven by continuous improvement, and excited by the opportunity to have a real impact on quality and performance, we'd love to hear from you.

As part of the team you'll receive:

    • 25 days holiday plus your birthday off
    • 2 volunteering days every year
    • Discounts on Beavertown beer and merchandise
    • Discretionary bonus
    • Private healthcare
    • Company pension
