Interim VP, Legal – Commercial (Maternity Cover)
Location: London, UK (international scope)
Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover
Start date: Early May 2026
A leading global entertainment and technology‑driven organisation is seeking an experienced Commercial Lawyer to join its international legal team on a fixed‑term basis.
This senior, hands‑on role supports a wide range of commercial, consumer and regulatory matters across multiple international markets. It would suit a lawyer who thrives in a fast‑moving, consumer‑facing business and is comfortable working autonomously, managing competing priorities, and influencing senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Working across diverse business units and jurisdictions, you will:
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of complex commercial agreements, including:
- SaaS and technology contracts
- Sponsorship agreements
- Venue hire and related contracts
- Production and promoter agreements
- Festival, supplier and sponsorship arrangements
- Ticketing and other consumer-facing agreements
- Advise on consumer and regulatory matters, including consumer protection, ticketing practices and price transparency.
- Support the business on high‑profile and reputationally sensitive issues with a strong focus on public perception and consumer trust.
- Provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice to stakeholders across international operations.
- Manage external counsel where required and collaborate with specialist in‑house legal experts.
- Operate flexibly across a varied workload, adapting quickly to evolving business needs.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer (England & Wales or equivalent)
- Approximately 8–15 years’ PQE
- Strong private practice training from a well‑regarded law firm
- Broad commercial experience, ideally gained in‑house within a consumer-facing, technology or regulated environment
- Experience advising on a wide range of commercial legal matters
- Exposure to consumer regulatory issues is beneficial but not essential
- Comfortable working autonomously and supporting senior stakeholders
- Highly organised, adaptable and solutions‑focused
- Experience in fast‑paced, international businesses is advantageous
- Willingness to work across time zones and travel occasionally as required
