How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Commercial Litigation Solicitor 2–3 PQE

    Job type: Full-time, Permanent

    Location: Central London

    Firm: Boutique law firm

We are recruiting on behalf of a growing boutique law firm who is looking to appoint a Commercial Litigation Solicitor with around 2–3 years’ PQE to work across a broad range of commercial disputes.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who wants more responsibility, direct client exposure and closer involvement in the day-to-day running of litigation matters.

The successful candidate will need practical experience of both County Court and High Court litigation and must be comfortable with the procedural mechanics of contentious work.

    The work

The role may involve matters including:

    • Contractual disputes

    • Commercial debt and money recovery claims

    • Partnership and shareholder disputes

    • Corporate insolvency-related disputes

    • Injunctions and urgent applications

    • Commercial real estate disputes

    • Cross-border disputes

    • Arbitration, mediation and other forms of ADR

    • General commercial litigation

    Key responsibilities

The successful candidate will be involved in:

    • Managing and progressing commercial litigation matters under supervision.

    • Drafting pleadings, applications, witness statements and correspondence.

    • Preparing and lodging documents in the County Court and High Court.

    • Using CE-File / High Court e-filing where required.

    • Preparing court bundles, hearing bundles and trial bundles.

    • Liaising with counsel, clients, opponents, experts and the court.

    • Supporting disclosure, evidence, interim applications and trial preparation.

    • Advising clients on procedural steps, litigation risk and commercial strategy.

    • Supporting settlement discussions, mediation preparation and ADR strategy.

    Experience required

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Around 2–3 years’ PQE as a litigation solicitor. England & Wales qualified Solicitors would be preferred, however they are open to applications from other Jurisdictions.

    • Litigation experience gained in private practice.

    • Practical experience of both County Court and High Court matters.

    • Experience in commercial litigation or closely related contentious work.

    • Strong drafting skills, including pleadings, applications and witness statements.

    • Experience preparing bundles and filing/lodging court documents.

    • Good working knowledge of the CPR.

    • Confidence dealing with counsel, clients, opponents and court staff.

    • Strong attention to detail and procedural discipline.

    • A proactive, commercially aware and practical approach.

Experience in contractual disputes, shareholder or partnership disputes, commercial real estate disputes, insolvency-related disputes, injunctions or commercial debt recovery would be particularly relevant.

    Candidate profile

This role would suit a solicitor who wants more responsibility and better exposure to commercial disputes than they may currently be getting.

The firm is particularly interested in someone who is technically strong, procedurally confident and able to take ownership of day-to-day case progression while continuing to develop under senior supervision.

The firm has a flexible and pragmatic culture, but this is a hands-on litigation role and is not intended to be fully remote.
