We are seeking a talented Cheminformatics Researcher to support a pioneering Genetic Medicine team focused on the discovery and optimisation of novel lipid nanoparticles used in advanced therapeutic delivery systems.
The Opportunity
Working within a highly collaborative research environment, you will contribute to the development of innovative lipid libraries through cheminformatics, machine learning and molecular modelling approaches. You will help drive chemical space exploration, predictive modelling and data-driven decision making, supporting the discovery of next-generation therapeutics.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimise molecular representations for lipid-based compounds.
- Analyse internal and external chemical datasets.
- Develop workflows for lipid classification and feature extraction.
- Build and refine virtual lipid libraries.
- Create predictive AI/ML models linking molecular structure to biological outcomes.
- Support compound prioritisation and diversity selection strategies.
- Collaborate across computational chemistry, formulation and experimental teams.
- Maintain high-quality scientific data standards and curation practices.
Requirements
- PhD in Cheminformatics, Computational Chemistry or related discipline.
- Strong experience in cheminformatics and molecular design.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning and predictive modelling.
- Advanced Python programming skills.
- Experience working with chemical datasets and data visualisation.
- Knowledge of lipid chemistry, lipid nanoparticles or drug discovery is advantageous.

- RDKit or related cheminformatics platforms.
