How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    • Mixing paints, lacquers and coatings to the required specifications.
    • Spraying doors and associated products to a consistently high standard.
    • Inspecting finished products to ensure they meet our quality standards.
    • Carrying out touch-ups and rectification work where necessary.
    • Cleaning and maintaining spray equipment to ensure it remains in excellent working order.
    • Keeping the spray booth and surrounding work area clean, organised and compliant with health and safety requirements.
    • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the production team to achieve daily production targets and customer deadlines.
    • Reporting any quality issues, equipment faults or material shortages promptly.

    About You

We're looking for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    You'll ideally have:

    • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to achieving a high-quality finish.
    • Good practical skills and manual dexterity.
    • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
    • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
    • Good time management and reliability.
    • An understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing or production environment.

    Hours of Work

    • Monday to Friday
    • Working Hours: 7:00am – 4:30pm
    • Breaks: 30-minute unpaid lunch break plus two paid 15-minute rest breaks
    • Paid Hours: 45 hours per week

    Training & Progression

We are committed to investing in our people and providing the training needed to build a long-term career with Universal Composite Doors.

Full training will be provided. Once you have successfully completed your training and can confidently spray all product ranges to the required standard, your hourly rate will increase from £14.50 per hour to £15.50 per hour.
