Mackie Myers are delighted to be partnering with a leading UK higher education institution to recruit an Interim Corporate Compliance Transformation Lead initially on a 6 month contract. This newly created position offers a unique opportunity to lead a significant programme of work focused on strengthening, standardising and modernising corporate compliance, due diligence and corporate relationship management processes across a complex and highly regulated organisation.

The Role
Reporting to the University Secretary, the Corporate Compliance Transformation Lead will be responsible for leading a university-wide transformation programme to develop a more centralised, risk-based and technology-enabled approach to due diligence and corporate relationship management.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across academic and professional services teams, you will provide specialist advice on compliance, partnership risk and research security matters while driving process improvement, system implementation and cultural change across the organisation.
Main Duties
- Lead the review, redesign and implementation of corporate compliance and due diligence processes across the institution.
- Develop and embed a risk-based framework for assessing and monitoring partnerships, collaborations and corporate relationships.
- Conduct due diligence assessments on prospective and existing partners, funders and external organisations.
- Provide specialist advice and guidance on corporate compliance, governance and research security matters.
- Lead the implementation of new systems and technology solutions to streamline compliance processes and improve reporting capabilities.
- Develop policies, procedures, guidance documents and training materials to support institutional compliance requirements.
- Produce reports, risk assessments and recommendations for senior leadership teams and governance committees.
- Monitor developments in legislation, regulation and sector best practice, ensuring institutional processes remain aligned with external requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple departments to drive engagement and adoption of new processes.
- Support the implementation of corporate relationship registers and associated governance frameworks.
- Coordinate and support committee activity, including agenda management, minute taking and action
The Successful Candidate
- Experience leading organisation-wide transformation, governance or compliance projects involving multiple stakeholder groups.
- Strong understanding of compliance, governance, risk management and due diligence frameworks.
- Experience interpreting legislation, regulation or policy requirements and translating these into practical processes and organisational guidance.
- Proven ability to provide specialist advice and recommendations to senior leaders, boards, committees or governance bodies.
- Experience conducting due diligence reviews and assessing organisational or partnership risk.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver change programmes.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience producing reports, policies and recommendations.
- Experience implementing systems, software or process improvements that deliver operational efficiencies.
- Experience working within higher education, research-intensive environments or similarly regulated sectors would be advantageous.
