About the Role
F.P.T. Industries, part of DART Aerospace, is looking for a Team Leader – Fuels to lead a team of approximately 15–20 employees within our aerospace manufacturing operation in Portsmouth.
This is a hands-on production leadership role for someone who can combine people management, operational discipline and a strong safety and quality mindset.
You will be responsible for creating a right-first-time culture, developing your team and ensuring production commitments are achieved across Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of 15–20 production employees.
- Drive a right-first-time culture focused on safety, quality and operational performance.
- Deliver against production commitments and key KPIs including delivery, quality and productivity.
- Manage attendance, sickness, holidays and day-to-day workforce requirements.
- Support employee training, development and performance objectives.
- Identify production issues and take appropriate corrective action.
- Maintain a safe, structured and engaging working environment.
- Update WIP trackers and support production documentation where required.
- Work closely with the Group Leader and wider manufacturing teams to maintain production flow.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Strong people-management and communication skills.
- Highly focused, accountable and target-driven approach.
- Ability to motivate and engage production employees.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Confidence making decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Manufacturing experience preferred; aerospace experience is an asset.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Minimum A-levels, BTEC National Diploma or equivalent.
Working Hours
Day or early shift patterns are available.
The site operates a 9-day fortnight, with every other Friday as a non-working day.
