How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Corporate Principal Associate | M&A & Private Equity | Growing London Practice

If you’re a senior Corporate lawyer looking for greater ownership of transactions and a more visible role within a growing London practice, this is an opportunity to join a highly regarded firm continuing to invest in its Corporate offering.

You’ll take the lead on complex transactions across M&A, private equity, reorganisations and joint ventures, with significant client contact and responsibility for matters from inception through to completion. At Principal Associate level, you’ll also play an important role in developing junior lawyers and contributing to the continued growth of the team.

    The Firm

This is a highly regarded UK & Ireland law firm with a growing London presence and a strong reputation for handling sophisticated commercial work for major businesses and institutions.

The London practice continues to attract investment and senior talent, with the firm building across a number of key commercial areas. Its clients span established corporates, investors, financial institutions and ambitious businesses, with particular expertise across sectors including technology, financial services, energy, healthcare and education.

The Corporate practice benefits from the resources and specialist expertise of the wider firm while providing senior lawyers in London with the opportunity to take meaningful responsibility for high quality transactions and client relationships.

The culture is collaborative and supportive, with an emphasis on professional development, flexibility and giving lawyers the opportunity to progress as the practice continues to grow.

    The Role

You will join the London Corporate team as a Principal Associate, advising clients across a broad range of transactional and advisory matters. The work will include M&A, disposals, private equity transactions, corporate reorganisations and restructurings, joint ventures and wider corporate governance and company law matters. There is also scope to work on cross-border transactions as part of the firm's broader client offering.

You will lead transactions from inception through to completion, taking responsibility for drafting and negotiating transaction documents, managing due diligence processes, identifying legal and commercial risks and coordinating the wider deal process.

This is a senior position with substantial client exposure. You will develop and manage relationships directly, becoming a trusted point of contact while working closely with Partners on more complex or strategically important matters.

You will also supervise and mentor Associates and Trainees, contribute to business development and play an active role in the continued development of the London Corporate practice.

    The Candidate

    • Experienced Corporate Solicitor operating at Senior or Principal Associate level
    • Strong transactional experience across M&A and wider corporate matters
    • Experience of private equity transactions would be particularly valuable
    • Confident leading transactions with a high degree of autonomy
    • Commercially minded with the ability to identify and communicate key risks clearly
    • Comfortable managing direct client relationships
    • Experience supervising and developing junior lawyers
    • Cross-border transactional experience would be advantageous
    • Experience across technology, financial services, energy, healthcare or education would also be beneficial

    What’s On Offer

    • Senior position within a growing London Corporate practice
    • Opportunity to lead complex M&A and private equity transactions
    • Significant responsibility and direct client relationships
    • Broad exposure across M&A, private equity, reorganisations and joint ventures
    • Opportunity to supervise and develop junior lawyers
    • Cross-border transactional exposure
    • Access to the resources and expertise of a substantial wider firm
    • Competitive salary and benefits package
    • Flexible and hybrid working
    • Private medical insurance
    • Pension contributions
    • Employee assistance programme
    • A range of wellbeing initiatives
    • Enhanced parental leave

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Corporate lawyer looking to take a leading role on transactions, develop deeper client relationships and establish themselves as a senior member of a growing London practice.
