How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    • Maintain high standards of professional recording, reporting and case documentation.
    • Contribute to quality assurance, safeguarding and continuous service improvement.
    • Promote positive outcomes, development and independence for children and young people.

    About You

We are looking for a Social Worker who has:

    • A Social Work degree or equivalent.
    • Current Social Work registration.
    • Experience working with children and/or young people, ideally within looked-after children or residential settings.
    • Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and risk management.
    • Excellent organisational, communication and report-writing skills.
    • The confidence to work collaboratively with Registered Managers, Local Authorities and wider professional networks.
    • A child-centred approach and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.

    What’s on Offer

    • £40,000–£50,000 salary
    • Monday–Friday working hours
    • No weekend or shift work
    • Protected time for report writing and case management
    • Professional development and ongoing training
    • Wellness days
    • Increased annual leave after 2 years
    • Clear salary bands and progression opportunities
    • The opportunity to be part of a developing in-house social work and service management model

If you're a Social Worker looking to move into a role where you can have genuine oversight of children’s cases and work closely with residential services to improve placement stability and outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.
