How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We're recruiting Production Operatives / Coil Winders to join a well-established and successful manufacturer based in Stroud.

You don't need previous coil winding experience. If you have a background in assembly, production, engineering or hands-on manufacturing, the company will provide the specialist training you need.

And with pay of up to £16 per hour, a four-day working week and a genuine temp-to-perm opportunity, there's plenty to like about this one!

    What's in it for you?

Every Friday off - enjoy a 3-day weekend every week
    Monday to Thursday working only
Full training in specialist coil winding and manufacturing techniques
    Genuine temp-to-perm opportunity
Opportunity to develop valuable, specialist skills
Long-term career prospects with an established manufacturer
    Supportive and experienced team
    On-site parking

    Excellent work-life balance

What will you actually be doing?

As a Manufacturing Operative, you'll be trained to manufacture specialist components where quality, accuracy and attention to detail really matter.

It's a varied, hands-on role that will include:

Setting and programming machinery to produce precision copper coils
Winding different gauges of copper wire onto components
Working with small and intricate parts
Carrying out electrical testing and quality inspections
    Soldering, crimping and moulding components
Using hand tools and specialist production equipment
Following technical drawings and detailed work instructions
Checking your finished work to ensure it meets quality standards
Accurately recording completed production work using company systemsThis is precision manufacturing rather than high-speed production, so it will really suit someone who enjoys concentrating on a task and takes pride in producing high-quality work.

    Who are we looking for?

You could be a great fit if you have previous experience within assembly, manufacturing, production or a similar hands-on environment.

We're particularly interested in people who:

    Have excellent attention to detail
Have good manual dexterity and enjoy practical work
Are comfortable working with small or intricate components
Can confidently use basic hand tools
Can follow technical drawings and written instructions
    Have basic IT skills
Take pride in the quality of their work
Are reliable, patient and willing to learn something newAn overhead crane licence would be an advantage, but it's certainly not essential.

Try the role before you start

Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to attend a taster day.

This gives you the chance to see the working environment, meet the team and get a proper feel for the job before committing - so you know exactly what to expect.

    Ready for something different?

This isn't just another production job.

It's an opportunity to learn a specialist skill, work for an established manufacturer and potentially secure a permanent position - all while enjoying a four-day working week and every Friday off.

If you're practical, detail-focused and looking for a role where you can develop your skills and build a longer-term career, we'd love to hear from you.

    Apply today for immediate consideration.
