How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Carmichael UK are recruiting for an experienced CAD Manager to join a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering one of the UK's most significant infrastructure schemes, the Lower Thames Crossing.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a CAD professional with strong surveying and infrastructure experience to take ownership of CAD standards, survey data management, and technical delivery across a major highways project.

    Responsibilities

    As CAD Manager, you will:

    Lead and oversee Engineering Survey CAD operations across the project.

    Ensure engineering, surveying and design teams are working with the correct CAD information and standards.

    Manage the production, processing and delivery of survey CAD data in accordance with project specifications.

    Develop and maintain CAD standards, procedures, workflows and best practices.

    Act as the key interface between design, engineering and surveying teams.

    Support the accurate management and sharing of subsurface and utility information.

    Coordinate with project teams to ensure CAD deliverables meet programme and project requirements.

    Manage CAD software resources, licences and system performance.

    Provide technical support, mentoring and training on CAD and survey software.

    Ensure compliance with client requirements, quality standards and industry regulations.

    Requirements

    Proven experience in a CAD Management, Survey CAD or Survey Data Management role.

    Experience within major construction, infrastructure, highways or civil engineering projects.

    Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and survey data processing.

    Understanding of ISO 19650 BIM processes and protocols.

    Experience developing CAD standards and managing workflows.

    Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.

    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

    Degree qualified in Surveying, Engineering, Architecture, Drafting Technology or a related discipline is desirable
