How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEND Support Assistant - Wellingborough

    Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Full-Time | Permanent

    Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wellingborough that is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant - SEND from September 2026.

    This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with children and wants to provide consistent, personalised support to pupils who may need additional help to access learning and school life.

    The Role

    As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCO, and wider school team to support pupils throughout the school day.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
    Helping children access the primary curriculum and take part in classroom activities
    Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, SEMH, and learning difficulties
    Reinforcing key skills through targeted activities and interventions
    Supporting children with reading, writing, numeracy, communication, and social development
    Encouraging pupils to become more confident and independent learners
    Helping children develop positive learning and classroom behaviours
    Supporting emotional regulation and children's wellbeing
    Following individual support plans and strategies put in place by the school
    Helping pupils manage transitions, routines, and changes throughout the school day
    Building positive and trusting relationships with children
    Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCO, parents, and wider support staff

    The Ideal Candidate

    The successful candidate will:

    Have a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
    Be caring, patient, empathetic, and resilient
    Be able to adapt their approach to meet individual children's needs
    Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
    Be confident building positive relationships with young children
    Remain calm and supportive when dealing with challenging situations
    Be reliable, proactive, and committed to safeguarding
    Work effectively as part of a primary school team
    Be enthusiastic about developing their knowledge and experience within SENDPrevious experience working in primary education, SEND, childcare, nursery, care, youth work, mentoring, or a similar setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
