How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The school is open to candidates seeking either a long-term teaching position or a temp-to-perm opportunity, making this an excellent role for teachers looking for stability and the potential to secure a permanent position.

    The Role

    As a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and purposeful lessons that help students develop their mathematical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and confidence.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Planning and delivering high-quality Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
    Preparing students for GCSE examinations and helping them achieve their academic potential
    Potential opportunities to teach A-Level Mathematics, depending on your experience and subject expertise
    Adapting lessons to meet the needs of students with different abilities and learning requirements
    Creating a positive and engaging classroom environment
    Assessing student understanding and monitoring progress effectively
    Providing constructive feedback to help students identify areas for development
    Maintaining high expectations of behaviour, effort, and achievement
    Working collaboratively with colleagues within a supportive Maths department
    Supporting intervention programmes, revision sessions, and enrichment activities
    Contributing positively to wider school life and departmental development

    The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for a Maths Teacher who:

    Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
    Has a strong academic background in Mathematics or a related subject
    Has confident knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Maths curriculum
    Is confident preparing students for GCSE examinations
    Has strong classroom management and communication skills
    Can build positive relationships with students and motivate them to succeed
    Is passionate about Mathematics and making the subject accessible and engaging
    Is adaptable, reliable, and committed to providing high-quality teaching
    Works well both independently and as part of a wider departmentEarly Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply, with appropriate mentoring, guidance, and support available.
