How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Travel Industry Affairs & Financial Protection Manager

Location: South West London / Hybrid

Are you an experienced travel industry professional with strong knowledge of travel regulation, financial protection and industry affairs? We’re looking for an accomplished and commercially minded Industry Affairs & Financial Protection Manager to play a key role within a leading travel trade association.

This is a varied and influential position combining regulatory affairs, member advisory, financial protection, stakeholder management and commercial development. You'll work closely with senior leadership, Government bodies, regulators and industry organisations, while providing expert support to members across the UK travel sector.

    Key Responsibilities

Lead the organisation's policy, regulatory and industry affairs activity, keeping members informed of key legislative and regulatory developments.

Develop policy positions, consultation responses, briefings and practical guidance for members.

Represent the organisation with Government departments, regulators, trade associations and other key industry bodies.

Provide expert advice to members on regulatory, financial protection and operational matters.

Manage complex member enquiries, compliance issues and complaints.

Oversee the organisation's financial protection scheme, including new member assessments, financial reviews, recommendations and ongoing risk monitoring.

Liaise with members, insurers, bond providers and other stakeholders throughout the financial protection process.

Prepare reports and recommendations for senior leadership and relevant boards.

Maintain strong governance, documentation and processes across the financial protection operation.

Identify opportunities to develop new products, services and revenue streams.

Manage commercial relationships with key financial protection and industry partners.

Identify opportunities to use technology and AI to improve efficiency, processes and member services.

Act as an ambassador for the organisation, building strong relationships across Government, regulators and the wider travel industry.

Support communications and media activity where appropriate.

    What We're Looking For

    You'll ideally have:

Significant experience within the UK travel industry, with a strong understanding of the sector.

Detailed knowledge of travel regulation, consumer protection and financial protection requirements.

Experience working with insurance, bonding or financial protection schemes.

Experience engaging with Government departments, regulators and industry bodies.

Strong financial analysis skills, including the ability to interpret statutory accounts and assess financial risk.

Excellent commercial judgement, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to influence at senior level.

The ability to manage sensitive issues, competing priorities and complex stakeholder relationships.

A proactive and independent approach, with the confidence to take ownership and make informed decisions.

An interest in using AI and technology to improve business processes and efficiency.

Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.

    The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to take on a highly influential role at the heart of the UK travel industry.

You'll have the opportunity to shape industry policy, influence regulatory developments, support travel businesses and oversee a significant financial protection function, while working closely with senior leadership and a wide range of industry stakeholders.

If you're a credible, commercially aware travel professional with strong regulatory and financial protection expertise, we'd love to hear from you
