How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Talentmark are recruiting for an experienced European Patent (EP) Paralegal to join a company in the pharmaceutical industry on a contract basis for 12 months. This role is hybrid, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office, in Bracknell, Berkshire.

    Salary:
    £15.26 - £20.35 per hour, PAYE

    Paralegal Role:

    Review incoming European patent correspondence and accurately record key information, deadlines and required actions in the IP docketing system.
    Monitor EPO and internal deadlines across the EP patent lifecycle, including prosecution, grant, opposition and validation.
    Liaise with internal patent attorneys and external European law firms to progress EP filings, prosecution matters and other patent-related actions.
    Prepare and file documentation using EPO Online Filing 2.0 and MyEPO.
    Support oppositions and other EPO proceedings, including preparing and processing procedural documentation.
    Maintain accurate records and support SPC/PTE tracking and lifecycle management where required.Your Background:

    At least 2 years’ experience as a European Patent Paralegal or in a similar IP support role.
    A good understanding of European patent applications, EPO procedures and the European Patent Convention (EPC).
    Experience managing deadlines, records and data integrity across a large patent portfolio, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
    Experience using patent record and docketing systems; knowledge of Anaqua, MyEPO or EPO Online Filing 2.0 would be desirable.
    Experience with US, PCT or national patent applications would be helpful, as would knowledge of SPC and PTE processes.
    Strong attention to detail, reading comprehension and proofreading skills, with the confidence to identify and escalate potential issues promptly.
    Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector, or a CIPA or EPAC Paralegal qualification, would be desirable.Apply:
