How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client is a major tier 1 contractor delivering works on a flagshi HS2 project in North West London. They are seeking an experienced Sub Agent to support the delivery of the Utilities & Highways Package.

    The Role

    As Sub Agent, you will take ownership of key sections of work, ensuring safe, efficient and successful delivery of highways, utilities and civil engineering packages, while managing programme, quality and commercial performance.

    Responsibilities

    Manage the delivery of highways, utilities and civil engineering works from start to completion.
    Lead engineers, supervisors and subcontractors on site.
    Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
    Drive short-term planning and programme management activities.
    Manage subcontractor performance and site coordination.
    Produce progress reports, forecasts and project updates.
    Support commercial management, change control and NEC contract administration.
    Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality requirements and HSEQ standards.

    Requirements

    Previous experience working as a Sub Agent on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
    Strong background in highways, utilities, drainage, structures or heavy civils.
    Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
    Good understanding of NEC contracts.
    Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
    Previous Tier 1 contractor or major project experience preferred.
