How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Operations Manager
    Perth, Scotland

    About Us

Since 1968, Stewart's Scotland has been a family-owned business dedicated to creating premium Scottish shortbread, fudge, and confectionery. With over 58 years of experience, we proudly bring the authentic taste of Scotland to customers worldwide.

We’re now looking for an Operations Manager to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working Monday to Friday, 7:00am–4:30pm.

    The Benefits

    - Salary of up to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience
    - 20 days’ annual leave, plus Bank Holidays
    - Employer pension contribution
    - Training and development
    - Paid overtime during seasonal peaks
    - Team breakfast every Friday
    - Monthly target lunches
    - Annual team day out

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced operations professional with strong warehouse and stock control expertise and a practical, solutions-focused mindset to join our established family-owned organisation.

You’ll have the autonomy to take real ownership of the operation, leading a close-knit team within a business that values practical ideas, strong standards and continuous improvement.

What’s more, with paid overtime during busy periods and regular team rewards, you’ll be part of a supportive culture where hard work is recognised.

So, if you’re ready to take charge of a busy operation, make lasting improvements and help a proud Scottish food business keep delivering worldwide, read on and apply today.

    The Role

As our Operations Manager, you will lead the day-to-day warehouse and supply operations, ensuring stock is accurate, materials are available, and customer orders leave correctly and on time.

Taking ownership of stock accuracy, purchasing, packaging and materials planning, you will establish simple processes that reduce discrepancies, shortages and picking errors.

Leading a small warehouse team, you will set clear priorities and standards while creating a safe, organised and efficient working environment.

You will also co-ordinate suppliers, couriers and co-pack partners to keep inbound deliveries and customer despatches running smoothly, particularly during seasonal peaks.

    Additionally, you will:

    - Manage purchase orders and proactively follow up late deliveries
    - Co-ordinate courier collections, exports and delivery requirements
    - Standardise core warehouse processes and SOPs
    - Maintain accurate supplier, item and stock data
    - Identify causes of recurring operational issues and introduce practical improvements

    About You

To be considered as our Operations Manager, you will need:

    - Experience running day-to-day operations across warehouse, stock control, and despatch in an SME
    - Solid goods-in/goods-out knowledge
    - The proven ability to improve stock accuracy (cycle counts, root cause, process discipline)
    - To be comfortable owning purchasing admin and supplier chasing to protect service levels
    - Food handling awareness and a commitment to hygiene, traceability, and safe storage
    - Confidence using systems and spreadsheets to keep records clean and produce simple reporting
    - Excellent people leadership skills
    - Strong attention to detail with a practical “get it sorted” mindset

Other organisations may call this role Warehouse Operations Manager, Warehouse Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Logistics Manager, Stock Control Manager, Inventory Manager, Operations Lead, or Warehouse Lead.
