Overhead Line Project Engineer for a major offshore wind farm in The UK
Responsibilities
Provide overhead line engineering support for 400kV, 275kV and 132kV projects across the full project life cycle, working as part of a multidiscipline project engineering team.
Review contractor/consultant design proposals, ensuring compliance with relevant design specification and guidance.
Take on a Project Engineering role, ensuring engineering governance is followed, co-ordination with all Engineering
Disciplines and support/assist others in the project team around managing engineering risks and utilising opportunities for the project to excel.
Act as the point of contact for overhead line engineering and represent engineering at key strategic, commercial, programme and site project meetings.
Promote and manage safety within the assigned projects through the implementation of CDM procedures and practices, ensuring the project engineering is compliant with company, HSE and industry regulations.
Work closely with Engineering Managers and Project Managers to ensure that Engineering and Quality risks are identified and mitigated.
Requirements
Strong technical skills in overhead line development, design, and specification-or demonstrable transferable experience.
Familiarity with overhead line design software (e.g. PLS-CADD) is advantageous but not essential.
A technical degree or HND, with relevant experience in the field.
A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to explore design options and apply evidence-based decision-making
