How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teaching Assistants – ASAP Start | Specialist SEN Setting

    Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding long-term opportunity where you can make a real difference every day?

    The Education Specialists (TES) are currently recruiting for SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist education setting in Greater Manchester, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs.

    This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and support workers who are passionate about working with pupils who require a more individualised approach to education.

    The Role

    As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to provide high-quality support to pupils throughout the school day.

    Your responsibilities may include:

    Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
    Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and complex learning needs.
    Helping pupils access learning and participate positively in school life.
    Supporting communication, social development and independence.
    Implementing individual support and behaviour plans.
    Using positive behaviour strategies to help pupils regulate and engage.
    Supporting pupils who may display challenging or dysregulated behaviour.
    Assisting with personal care and other day-to-day needs where required.
    Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
    Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and the wider support team.
    Creating a calm, safe and structured learning environment.The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for candidates who are:

    Experienced working with children or young people with SEN.
    Patient, resilient and compassionate.
    Confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
    Able to build positive relationships with pupils who may have complex needs.
    Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    Consistent in their approach and able to follow individual support plans.
    Passionate about helping young people develop academically, socially and emotionally.Previous experience in a specialist SEN school, residential setting, Alternative Provision, PRU or similar environment would be highly advantageous.

    Relevant qualifications such as Teaching Assistant qualifications, CACHE, Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching & Learning, Health & Social Care or equivalent experience are welcomed.
