How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    NURSERY PRACTITIONER – CHELMSFORD

    Full Time | Monday – Friday | Flexible Hours | Permanent & Temporary Opportunities

    THE ROLE

    As a Nursery Practitioner, you will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children feel supported, valued and encouraged to learn.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Providing high-quality care and support to children aged 0–5
    • Supporting children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS
    • Planning and supporting engaging, age-appropriate activities
    • Observing and assessing children’s development
    • Maintaining accurate learning and development records
    • Building positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
    • Supporting children’s individual needs and interests
    • Ensuring safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed
    • Creating a welcoming and stimulating learning environment
    • Working effectively as part of a professional Early Years team

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    We are looking for practitioners who are passionate about Early Years and take pride in providing outstanding care and education.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification, depending on the position
    • Previous experience working within a nursery, pre-school or Early Years setting
    • A good understanding of the EYFS framework
    • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
    • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
    • A reliable, professional and positive approach to work
    • A current Paediatric First Aid certificate is desirable
    • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable
