How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Your new role
    As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and optimisation of the company's enterprise data platform. Working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party partners, you will help transform raw data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making across the organisation.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    Designing and developing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integrations.
    Building and maintaining data warehouse solutions and data repositories.
    Developing robust data models, including fact and dimension tables for reporting and analytics.
    Managing data quality, governance, lineage, and security across the data estate.
    Creating and enhancing reporting and business intelligence solutions, including Power BI.
    Supporting cloud-based data environments across Azure and AWS.
    Collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
    Contributing to the ongoing evolution of the organisation's data strategy and architecture.
    Supporting platform migrations and continuous improvement initiatives.
    What you'll need to succeed
    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    At least 5 years' experience in a Data Engineering or similar data-focused role.
    Strong SQL skills, including T-SQL and exposure to relational database technologies.
    Proven ETL experience, with SSIS being essential.
    Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
    Strong understanding of data modelling, warehousing concepts, and dimensional modelling.
    Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure and/or AWS.
    Knowledge of Agile delivery environments and the Software Development Lifecycle.
    Experience designing and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions.
    Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    Any experience with Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, DevOps, data migration projects, or financial services environments would be highly advantageous.
