How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 DOE

Location: Remote / Site-Based – South East, London, M25, Kent, Essex

Type of Work: Full-time, permanent, remote and site-based

Are you an experienced Fire Project Manager with a strong background in fire detection and suppression systems, looking for a role where you can take ownership of complex, technically demanding projects across London and the South East?

Our client is looking to recruit a capable and commercially aware Project Manager to oversee the delivery of fire protection projects from planning and mobilisation through to completion and handover. This is a remote and site-based role, covering projects across the M25, London, Kent, Essex and the wider South East, so candidates will need to be based within reasonable reach of this region.

The role would suit someone with proven experience managing fire detection and suppression projects, ideally including exposure to data centre, critical infrastructure, commercial or high-compliance environments. You will be responsible for coordinating internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients, ensuring projects are delivered safely, commercially and to the required technical standards.

    Job Description

As Project Manager, your duties will include:

Managing fire protection projects from initial planning through to final handover

Defining project scope, deliverables, programmes, budgets and resource requirements

Coordinating design, procurement, engineering, installation, commissioning and handover activity

Managing site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and specialist delivery partners

Reviewing designs, specifications, technical drawings and system layouts

Ensuring work is delivered in line with relevant standards, regulations and client requirements

Monitoring project performance, budgets, cost-to-complete forecasts and commercial risks

Preparing and managing variations, applications for payment, valuations and final accounts

Attending client meetings, progress reviews and site inspections

Supporting high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance across all projects

    Person Specification

    Suitable candidates will ideally have:

Proven experience managing fire detection, fire alarm and/or suppression system projects

Technical knowledge of fire systems, including fire alarms, gas suppression, water mist, emergency voice systems, dry risers or related systems

Previous experience delivering projects within commercial, construction, building services or critical environments

Exposure to data centre projects would be highly advantageous

Strong commercial awareness, including budget management, cost control, contract administration and variations

The ability to manage subcontractors, site teams and internal stakeholders effectively

Good understanding of construction programmes, sequencing and project lifecycle management

Confidence interpreting technical drawings, schematics and compliance documentation

Strong communication skills, with the ability to build professional relationships with clients, consultants and delivery teams

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office; project management or ERP system experience would be beneficial

    Essential requirements include:

    Valid CSCS card

    SMSTS

    Full UK driving licence

Relevant technical, engineering, construction or fire industry background

    Desirable qualifications include:

HNC, HND or degree in Engineering, Building Services, Fire Safety or a related discipline

FIA, BS 5839, fire design or commissioning-related training

    First Aid, PASMA and/or IPAF

Knowledge of CDM Regulations and experience working within principal contractor or specialist subcontractor environments

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fire Project Manager to join a specialist business delivering technically interesting projects across the South East. The role offers a salary of £55,000 – £65,000 depending on experience, along with the opportunity to work on varied fire detection and suppression projects, including potential exposure to data centre environments.
