How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Data and Performance Officer
    Location: Ripley
    Salary: £34,237 - £38,510 per annum
    Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)

    About the Role:
    Are you passionate about turning data into meaningful insight? We're looking for a proactive and analytical Data and Performance Officer to support performance reporting, data quality improvement, responding accurately to frequent information requests, and to undertake analysis to support evidence-based decision making across Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service.
    What you'll do
    * Support the production and ongoing development of performance dashboards, reports and management information.
    * Analyse data trends and performance across Prevention, Protection, Response and Support Services.
    * Produce statistical analysis to support strategic decision making.
    * Respond to information requests, including Freedom of Information requests.
    * Support data quality, governance, GDPR compliance and implementation of the NFCC Fire Data Management Standard.
    * Extract, validate and report data using SQL and reporting tools.
    What we're looking for
    * Strong analytical and skills.
    * Experience working with data, reporting and performance information.
    * Advanced Excel skills and an eye for detail.
    * Ability to communicate complex information clearly to a range of audiences.
    * Knowledge of SQL, Power BI and reporting systems is desirable.
    * Relevant analytical qualification or equivalent experience.
    There will be a requirement for some travel for which a pool car will be provided.
    Required Qualifications and Experience:
    To be successful in this role, you will bring the following qualifications and experience:
    * HNC/Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) /BTEC or relevant demonstrable experience and training, with significant analytical or statistical element
