How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Machinist role based in Egham. The Machinist will set up and operate manual and/or NC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include selecting appropriate tools and materials, adjusting machine settings, measuring and inspecting parts, and maintaining accurate production records. . The Machinist is expected to follow all health and safety procedures and contribute to a clean, organized, and compliant workshop.

    Qualifications


    • Demonstrated experience operating manual or CNC machining equipment, including setup, adjustment, and safe operation of machines.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and work instructions, with strong attention to dimensional accuracy.
    • Competence in using measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) and performing quality checks to maintain tight tolerances.
    • Solid understanding of workshop safety practices, machine maintenance basics, and safe handling of tools and materials.
    • Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify machining issues and propose practical adjustments or improvements.
    • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage part-time hours effectively and meet production deadlines.
    • Effective communication skills .
    • Previous experience in precision engineering or a similar manufacturing environment is preferred.
