Role Summary:
An exciting opportunity for an experienced residential conveyancer to step into an Assistant Head of Department position. You’ll manage your own varied and complex caseload while supporting the Head of Conveyancing with the day-to-day management, development and performance of a large team across multiple offices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Team Management: Support the Head of Department with training, development, performance and file reviews, giving you the opportunity to develop your leadership experience.
• Complex Conveyancing: Handle your own busy caseload covering sales, purchases, leasehold, shared ownership and transfers of equity.
• Department Leadership: Represent and lead the department in the Head of Department’s absence, providing valuable management exposure.
• Business Development: Help develop new business opportunities through networking, exhibitions and proactive marketing activity.
• Compliance & Performance: Ensure departmental procedures meet AML and Lexcel requirements while working towards agreed KPIs and targets.
• Client Management: Provide clear advice and regular updates while maintaining high standards of file management and client care.
Requirements:
• Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or CLC-qualified with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE.
• Strong experience managing a varied residential conveyancing caseload, including sales, purchases, leasehold, shared ownership and transfers of equity.
• Previous experience supervising, mentoring or managing junior team members.
• Strong knowledge of conveyancing procedures, CQS, AML regulations, SRA Accounts Rules and the SRA Code of Conduct.
• Commercial awareness, budgeting skills and a proactive approach to business development.
• Excellent organisation, communication and client-management skills.
• Experience using case management systems alongside Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle.
