How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client is an Engineering company based in the Salford area and they require an experienced Internal Sales Engineer to join them on a permanent basis.
    Key Accountabilities
    1. Assist in the quoting and selling of motors and other rotating/control equipment, namely electric motors, pumps, gearboxes and geared motors, inverters and fans as part of the motor sales department.
    2. Complete the daily paperwork as required in the department, including but not limited to job paperwork, the daily spreadsheet and quotations.
    3. Manage electric motor stock and be responsible for the motor stock check at the end of each 4 week period or other times as required.
    4. Manage, and carry out if necessary, the feedback following job quotations for the sales department, including calling customers for quote progress.
    5. Assist in fulfilling orders for the sales website.
    6. Liaise with suppliers to get the best possible terms on motors and other items sold. Find new suppliers in order to improve terms.
    7. Provide support to the sales and other departments when necessary.
    9. Provide out of hours support via mobile phone, answering new motor queries from the workshop – this is not expected to be onerous but is expected while you are not on holiday.

    * Motivated – be motivated to improve the departmental sales performance and be keen to try new ideas/initiatives in order to help progress.
    Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required: An engineering qualification is preferred (from ONC up to degree level in a relevant Engineering discipline), together with experience within the electric motor/rotating equipment sales field and evidence of training by original equipment manufacturers. Experience within a repair environment would also be an advantage. Must be fully competent with respect to IT including use of Sage products, Word and Excel. Experience with Google pay-per-click advertising and Google Analytics would be an advantage.
    Essential
    Sound knowledge of engineering
    Previous internal sales experience in the engineering sector, with power transmission or rotating equipment.
    This role has a basic salary £40K plus quarterly bonus and great holiday entitlement and company benefits
