How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Graduate Structural Engineer
Are you a Civil or Structural Engineering graduate looking to kick-start your career within a specialist, design-led engineering consultancy working on complex and architecturally driven projects?

This is an opportunity to join a boutique structural and façade engineering practice working across a diverse portfolio of high-end residential, commercial, cultural, refurbishment and bespoke architectural projects. The structural team works across a wide range of materials, including steel, concrete, timber, CLT and structural glass, with a particular focus on developing creative engineering solutions to technically challenging problems.

You’ll work closely with experienced engineers, architects and other design professionals, gaining exposure to projects from concept through to detailed design and construction. The role would particularly suit a graduate who enjoys problem-solving, 3D modelling, architecture and innovative structural design.

    Your responsibilities will include:
    • Assisting with structural design across a variety of building and specialist projects
    • Producing structural calculations, technical reports and design documentation
    • Working with a range of materials including steel, concrete, timber and glass
    • Supporting the development of innovative and bespoke structural solutions
    • Assisting with structural analysis and engineering assessments
    • Developing 3D models and exploring complex geometries and forms
    • Working alongside architects, façade engineers, contractors and other consultants
    • Supporting refurbishment and structural intervention projects involving existing buildings
    • Developing your understanding of Eurocodes, British Standards and UK Building Regulations
    • Contributing to projects from early concept through to detailed design and construction

    Experience Required
    • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering 2:1 BEng or above
    • Strong understanding of core structural engineering principles
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Interest in architecture, design and innovative engineering
    • Experience with 3D modelling or parametric design is advantageous
    • Knowledge of Rhino and/or Grasshopper would be highly beneficial
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
    • A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of your work
    • Genuine interest in developing a career within structural engineering

    Salary & Package
    • £28,000 – £35,000 depending on experience
    • Professional development and technical training
    • Support towards Chartership with the IStructE
    • Exposure to a highly diverse and technically challenging project portfolio
    • Opportunity to work across multiple materials and engineering disciplines
    • Collaborative, specialist working environment

    Additional Benefits
    • Work alongside experienced engineers and industry specialists
    • Exposure to architecturally led and bespoke structural projects
    • Opportunity to develop skills in parametric design, 3D modelling and complex geometry
    • Broad experience across steel, concrete, timber, CLT and structural glass
    • Clear opportunity to develop technically within a small, specialist team
    • Work on projects where creative thinking and engineering problem-solving are genuinely valued
