How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CNC Miller / Programmer – £20–£24ph + Progression

    £20.00–£24.00 per hour | Overtime Available | Permanent | Immediate Start Available

    Are you an experienced CNC Miller looking for a well-paid permanent position where you can start quickly and continue developing your programming skills?

    Due to a busy and growing workload, an established precision engineering business is looking to add a skilled CNC Miller to its team as soon as possible.

    They're looking for someone who can confidently set CNC mills, work from engineering drawings and produce precision components to tight tolerances.

    Programming experience would be highly desirable – but you don't need to be the finished article.

    If you're a strong CNC Setter/Operator with good machining fundamentals and want to develop further into programming and offline CAD/CAM, they'll invest in getting you there.

    You'll be working with a range of well-maintained CNC equipment including:

    * Kitamura CNC machining centres

    * DMG CNC machining centres

    * 3 & 4-axis milling

    This isn't simply a load-and-run position.

    Depending on your experience, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in setting, programming, proving out, tooling, troubleshooting and improving jobs.

    What They're Looking For

    Ideally, you'll have experience with:

    * CNC milling

    * Setting and operating CNC machining centres

    * Programming or editing at the machine

    * 3 and/or 4-axis machining

    * Reading engineering drawings

    * Tool selection and offsets

    * Working to tight tolerances

    * Problem solving and proving out jobs

    CAD/CAM experience would be a big advantage, but isn't essential.

    They're open-minded on experience. A fully experienced Programmer/Setter can come in at the higher end of the salary range, while a strong Setter/Operator with the right foundations can be trained and developed further.

    What's On Offer?

    * £20.00–£24.00 per hour, depending on experience

    * Up to approximately £50,000 basic at the top end

    * Overtime available

    * Immediate start available

    * Permanent day-shift position

    * Well-maintained Kitamura & DMG machinery

    * Varied precision subcontract work

    * CAD/CAM training and development

    * Genuine progression for someone wanting to become a stronger programmer

    * Established engineering business with a long-term workload

    They're looking to get someone on board ASAP, so interviews can be arranged quickly.

    If you're a CNC Miller who's considering a move – whether you're already programming your own work or you're a strong Setter/Operator ready to take that next step – apply now and I'll give you a confidential call to run through the opportunity
