How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are looking for a Children’s Support Worker to join our dedicated team and become part of our family home. Your will provide guidance, helping children manage complex emotions, build confidence and develop the skills they need for their futures. The role can be emotionally challenging, but it is also incredibly rewarding. You could be the person who helps change a child’s life for the better.

    Our home is a warm, family-style 4 bed residential home, currently rated Good by Ofsted. We support young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

    Our young people love getting out and about and taking part in a wide range of activities. We’re looking for people who are active, enjoy the outdoors and genuinely want to get involved rather than simply observe from the sidelines.

    The Role

    You’ll be part of a caring and supportive team, helping create a safe, positive and nurturing home where young people can feel secure and thrive.

    Every day is different. You might be kicking a football around, going for a walk, helping with cooking, supporting a young person through a difficult moment, or simply being there to listen.

    You will

    * Be a positive role model and encourage young people to believe in themselves

    * Provide emotional support during challenging situations

    * Build trusting, respectful and consistent relationships

    * Help young people enjoy everyday activities and achieve their goals

    * Encourage independence, confidence and positive decision-making

    * Support young people to take part in activities both in the home and out in the community

    * Work closely with colleagues to provide consistent, high-quality care

    * Help create a warm, family-style environment where young people feel valued

    Shift Pattern

    This is a full-time position of 39 hours per week, working on a 4-week rolling rota.

    The shift pattern includes:

    * Term-time shifts: 9am–3pm or 3pm–11pm

    * Sleep-ins

    * Weekend working: 9am–11pm

    * 1 weekend in every 4 weekends off

    The rota is designed to provide consistency for our young people while giving our team a clear and predictable working pattern.

    We’re looking for someone who:

    * Has a positive, warm and naturally caring personality

    * Is active and enjoys being outdoors

    * Is enthusiastic about getting involved in activities with young people

    * Is patient, compassionate and able to show understanding

    * Is emotionally resilient and able to stay calm under pressure

    * Has a positive, proactive approach and a willingness to learn

    * Is a strong team player and will fit well into our close-knit team

    * Can build genuine, trusting relationships with young people

    * Is flexible and comfortable working shifts, weekends and sleep-ins

    * Has a full UK Driving Licence – essential

    You may have experience working with children or young people, but this isn’t essential. We welcome people from a variety of backgrounds who have the right personality, values and willingness to learn.

    If you’re someone who enjoys being active, loves the outdoors, has a positive outlook and wants to do something genuinely meaningful, this could be the role for you.

    Why Join Us?

    You’ll become part of a supportive team where teamwork, consistency and relationships really matter. We want our staff to enjoy coming to work and to feel proud of the difference they make.
