About the Role
Simply Education are working with a specialist education setting in the Leatherhead area, supporting young people aged 11-16 with ASC and additional needs.
We are seeking an experienced Pastoral & Safeguarding Lead to take a key role in behaviour, safeguarding, attendance and student wellbeing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people and creating a safe, positive environment where they can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop approaches to behaviour, safeguarding, attendance and wellbeing.
Implement and maintain behaviour and safeguarding policies and procedures.
Provide rapid support to students requiring additional intervention and support successful re-engagement in learning.
Maintain a visible presence across the setting, particularly during breaks and lunchtimes.
Build strong relationships with students, parents and carers.
Deliver safeguarding, behaviour and pastoral CPD and training to staff.
Monitor and report relevant data to senior leaders and governors.
Oversee safeguarding compliance, educational visits and associated processes.
Act as the Designated Lead for Looked After Children (LAC).
Coordinate targeted interventions in line with students' EHCPs.
What We're Looking For
GCSE English and Maths Grade 4/C or above.
Level 3 qualification relating to children and young people is desirable.
Experience supporting young people with SEN, SEMH and/or ASD.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
Experience managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to take ownership of pastoral and safeguarding responsibilities while working effectively as part of a wider team.
