How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Wellingborough that is looking to appoint a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join its team from September 2026 on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is caring, patient, and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning. You will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and the wider support team to provide targeted support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and make meaningful progress.

    The Role

Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND within the mainstream classroom
Supporting children with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, and learning difficulties
Helping pupils access lessons through differentiated activities and individualised support
Supporting children with literacy, numeracy, phonics, and wider curriculum activities
Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, communication, and social skills
Implementing strategies and support plans in line with individual pupil needs
Encouraging positive behaviour and helping children develop effective learning routines
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and managing challenges in a calm and consistent manner
Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to monitor progress and identify areas where further support may be required
Creating a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every pupil feels supported
Supporting pupils during break times, lunchtimes, and wider school activities where required

This Role Could Be Ideal If You

Are passionate about supporting children with SEND
Are considering a career in teaching, SEND, child development, educational psychology, or pastoral support
Have previous experience working with children or young people with additional needs
Want to gain specialist SEND experience within a mainstream primary school
Have worked in education, childcare, care, youth work, coaching, or a similar child-focused environment
Enjoy helping children overcome barriers and celebrate their individual progress
Are looking for a permanent role where you can develop your skills and build a long-term career

We Are Looking For Someone Who

    Is patient, caring, and understanding
Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Can build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
Is calm and consistent when managing challenging situations
Can adapt their approach to meet individual pupil needs
Is reliable, proactive, and works well as part of a team
Is confident working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals
Has experience supporting children with SEND - desirable but not essential
