How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Location: Warrington - various library locations
    Start Date: Approximately October half-term
Duration: Ongoing until the end of the academic year
    Hours: Variable / flexible
    Pay: £25 per hour

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting qualified Maths and English Teachers with QTS to provide tuition to secondary-aged pupils across Warrington.

Working on behalf of a secondary school in Warrington, successful tutors will deliver off-site tuition sessions in local libraries across the Warrington area, supporting pupils who require additional educational provision away from the mainstream school environment.

The programme is expected to commence around October half-term and continue through to the end of the academic year, providing an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher looking for flexible, rewarding tuition work.

    The Role

As a Maths or English Tutor, you will work with pupils on an individual or small-group basis, helping them to re-engage with education, develop their subject knowledge and make meaningful academic progress.

Sessions will take place at libraries across Warrington, rather than within a traditional school setting.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Delivering engaging and appropriately differentiated Maths or English tuition.
Supporting pupils to develop their confidence, knowledge and academic skills.
Adapting teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs.
Establishing positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
Monitoring pupil progress and adapting sessions accordingly.
Providing appropriate challenge and support based on each pupil's ability.
Creating a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
Supporting pupils who may have experienced barriers to accessing mainstream education.SEN & SEMH Experience Is Essential

This role is particularly suited to teachers who have strong experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, or pupils who have struggled to engage with mainstream education.

You will need to be confident adapting your teaching style and building relationships with pupils who may require a more individualised approach to learning.

The successful candidates will ideally have experience working with pupils presenting with a range of needs, including SEMH, behavioural needs, anxiety, school refusal, low confidence or disengagement from education.

Above all, you will need to be patient, resilient, empathetic and consistent, with the ability to establish positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.

    What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in hearing from:

    Qualified Maths Teachers with QTS
    Qualified English Teachers with QTS
    Experienced secondary school teachers
Teachers with a strong SEN or SEMH background
Teachers experienced in alternative provision or tuition
Teachers with experience supporting pupils outside of mainstream classrooms
Experienced tutors with QTS and a secondary teaching background
Teachers who are confident delivering one-to-one or small-group tuitionQTS is an essential requirement for these positions.

You will also need to be comfortable travelling to different library locations across Warrington depending on where tuition sessions are taking place.

    Why Consider This Opportunity?

This role offers something different from traditional classroom teaching.

You'll have the opportunity to work with pupils on a more individualised basis, potentially making a significant difference to young people who need additional support to re-engage with education.

With £25 per hour pay and variable hours, the role could suit teachers looking to supplement existing work, reduce their classroom commitment or take on a rewarding tuition position alongside other responsibilities.

    Why Work With Tradewind Recruitment?

As a Tradewind candidate, you'll benefit from:

    £25 per hour pay
A potentially long-term opportunity through to the end of the academic year
    Flexible and variable working hours
    A dedicated recruitment consultant
Access to further teaching and tuition opportunities across Warrington
    Weekly pay
Free CPD and professional development through The National College
Support throughout the registration and compliance processInterested?

If you are a qualified Maths or English Teacher with QTS and have strong experience supporting pupils with SEN and/or SEMH needs, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a particularly rewarding opportunity for teachers who enjoy working with young people on a more individual basis and have the patience, adaptability and experience required to help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
