Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £36,750 – £39,990 per year, depending on experience
Shift Uplift: 12.5% (£41,343 – £44,988)
Shift Pattern: 6:00am – 2:00pm / 2:00pm – 10:00pm

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Carpenter to transfer their skills into the rail industry, working as part of a highly skilled engineering team carrying out the complete overhaul of passenger trains.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in carpentry, interior fit-out, manufacturing, vehicle building or a similar environment to develop their career within the rail sector.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out the assembly and fitting of components to rail vehicles.
Install and fit passenger interiors, flooring, seating, panels and other passenger comfort and safety equipment.
Complete carpentry and interior fit-out work to a high standard.
Work from engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
Use a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Ensure all work is completed accurately and to the required quality standards.
Work both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.The Ideal CandidateYou will have previous experience as a Carpenter, ideally within an interior fit-out, manufacturing, vehicle building or similar environment.
Experience within the following areas would also be considered:
Carpentry and interior fit-out
Joinery
Vehicle building or coach building
Manufacturing or assembly
Kitchen fitting
Shop fitting or commercial fit-outYou will also have:
Experience using hand and power tools.
The ability to read and work from engineering drawings or detailed instructions.
Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing a high-quality finish.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility and confidence working rotating shifts, including earlies and lates.Essential Criteria
Minimum Level 2 qualification in Carpentry or a relevant discipline.
Full UK driving licence.
Ability to pass a medical and drug & alcohol screening.
