How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Store Manager – Orpington

    Basic Salary: £32,000 per annum, potentially negotiable depending on experience
    Earnings: Uncapped commission, with top performers earning an average of £50,000 per year
    Hours: Average of 37 hours per week across a three-week rolling rota

    The Opportunity

    We are recruiting an experienced and commercially driven Store Manager on behalf of a successful and expanding national retailer.

    This is an excellent opportunity to lead a small sales team, deliver outstanding customer service and benefit from a highly rewarding, uncapped commission structure.

    The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Orpington store, ensuring sales targets are achieved while maintaining excellent standards throughout the showroom.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Leading, motivating and developing a small team to achieve individual and store targets

    *

    Coaching employees and supporting their ongoing development

    *

    Leading by example and creating a positive, customer-focused environment

    *

    Advising retail and trade customers on suitable products and services

    *

    Following up with customers who have requested product samples online

    *

    Contacting local trade customers by telephone and email to promote products and generate new business

    *

    Maximising every sales opportunity and helping the store exceed its performance targets

    *

    Maintaining a clean, welcoming and professional showroom

    *

    Supporting the click-and-collect service, including some manual handling

    *

    Ensuring every customer receives a friendly, knowledgeable and professional service

    About You

    The ideal candidate will:

    *

    Have previous retail management, showroom management or sales leadership experience

    *

    Be an approachable and motivational leader

    *

    Lead from the front and enjoy working within a target-driven environment

    *

    Have a genuine passion for sales and customer service

    *

    Be commercially aware and motivated by uncapped earning potential

    Communicate confidently in person, over the telephone and by email

    Be comfortable using technology and learning new systems

    Be comfortable working independently when required

    Previous flooring or industry-specific experience is not essential, as full product and systems training will be provided.

    Working Hours

    You will work an average of 37 hours per week across a three-week rolling rota, including weekends.

    You will receive at least two days off each week, with three days off during the third week of the rota.

    The store operates with a small team, typically with two employees working at any one time. The position may therefore involve periods of lone working.
