How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Smile Education is recruiting on behalf of Endeavour Multi Academy Trust for multiple Teaching Assistant opportunities across their primary and secondary school in Burton Upon Trent for the new academic year starting in September.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students to achieve their full potential in a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

    Essential RequirementsApplicants must:

    Hold a minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
    Have a minimum of 6 months' UK-based experience working with children in a school, childcare, or residential setting
    Be able to provide a minimum of 2 years' worth of references, including at least one referee who can comment on your interaction and work with children
    Hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new DBS through Smile Education
    Have a genuine passion for supporting the care, wellbeing, and education of children and young people
    Be able to immerse yourself in school life and become a positive role model for students
    Demonstrate a flexible and adaptable approach, understanding that no two days are the same
    Have the confidence and resilience to manage challenging behaviour and effectively de-escalate situations when required
    Be able to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a wider school team
    Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
