About the role
As an 1:1 SEN Support Worker, you will provide 1:1 support to a pupil with complex physical needs, working closely with the class teacher and wider support team to ensure they are fully supported and able to engage in school life.
The role will involve providing consistent, patient and compassionate support throughout the school day, helping the pupil to access learning, develop their independence and feel confident within the school environment.
We're looking for someone who has:
A solid understanding of SEN and the different challenges children and young people may face
Previous experience working with children and young people
Experience supporting individuals with complex physical needs is highly desirable
A caring, patient and empathetic approach
The confidence and resilience to provide consistent 1:1 support
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine commitment to helping children achieve their potential
The ability to follow individual care, learning and support plansExperience within an SEN school, care setting or a previous role as a 1:1 SEN Support Worker would be particularly advantageous.
