How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Our client, an established organisation within the aerospace MRO sector, is seeking a Licensed Engineer to join its engineering team at the Cumbernauld base. This permanent role involves supporting line and base aircraft maintenance activities across operational and temporary working locations, with occasional overnight stays when required.

    Key Responsibilities:

Support line and base aircraft maintenance activities at the Cumbernauld base and other operating locations
Complete aircraft maintenance tasks in accordance with approved data, current regulations, industry best practice and company authorisations

Identify, document and record aircraft defects following debriefs with operational crew members
Supervise and provide guidance to engineering and support personnel when required
Ensure tooling and support equipment are used, maintained and stored correctly
Carry out aircraft handling, refuelling, role changes and cleaning activities in support of operational requirements
Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment while providing wider engineering and operational support

    Job Requirements:

Relevant experience as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer within an aircraft maintenance or aerospace MRO environment
Appropriate aircraft maintenance licence and authorisations for the work being undertaken
Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance procedures, approved technical data and applicable aviation regulations
Ability to diagnose, document and resolve aircraft defects accurately
Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and regulatory compliance
Ability to supervise and support engineering personnel effectively
Strong attention to detail and a practical, methodical approach to problem-solving
Flexibility to work at other bases or temporary locations, including occasional overnight stays

    Working Pattern:

The role operates on a 28-day rotating shift pattern consisting of 10-hour shifts across six days on and four days off, followed by four days on and six days off. This averages 35 hours per week across the cycle. Additional hours may occasionally be required to meet operational needs and may be managed through time off in lieu or overtime arrangements.

    Benefits:

Permanent employment with an established aerospace MRO organisation
30 days of annual leave, with public holidays not recognised separately
Auto-enrolment into a personal pension scheme, with enhanced employer contributions after one year of service
