How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Music & Art Teacher – Secondary

    Location: Luton, Bedfordshire
    Salary: £40,372–£59,864 per annum (M1–UPS3), dependent on experience and qualifications
    Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary – one academic year
    Start Date: September 2026

    Teach Now is seeking a creative and ambitious Music & Art Teacher to join a welcoming secondary academy in Luton. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire pupils across KS3, KS4 and KS5, encouraging creativity, self-expression and a genuine appreciation of the arts.

    The Role

    You will:

    • Plan and deliver engaging Music and Art lessons across the secondary age range.
    • Set high expectations and support pupils of differing abilities to make strong progress.
    • Assess pupils work and use outcomes to inform future teaching and curriculum planning.
    • Contribute to creative projects, performances, exhibitions and enrichment activities.
    • Promote confidence, cultural awareness and participation in the wider life of the academy.

    About You

    The successful candidate will:

    • Hold UK-recognised QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
    • Have experience teaching Music, Art or both within a secondary setting.
    • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management.
    • Be enthusiastic, organised and committed to inclusive, high-quality teaching.
    • Share the academys ambition for every pupil to achieve excellent outcomes.
