How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Mental Health Support - Reading

Studying Psychology, Education or a related subject? Looking for valuable experience working with children and young people? This could be the perfect opportunity for you!

A fantastic specialist school in Reading is looking for a Mental Health Support Assistant to join their team. The role is to start ASAP!

You'll be working with primary and secondary-aged students who need additional support with their social, emotional and mental health, as well as learning needs that can make the classroom environment challenging.

This is a brilliant opportunity to gain hands-on experience working directly with young people and develop skills that could be invaluable for your future career.

    What will you be doing?

You'll work with students 1:1 and in small groups, providing targeted support and interventions to help them feel more confident, engaged and ready to learn.

    Your day could include:

Building positive and supportive relationships with students.
Helping young people develop strategies to manage their emotions.
Supporting students with their confidence, communication and social skills.
    Delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions.
Helping students overcome barriers to learning.
Supporting students to develop positive routines and engage with education.

You'll gain an insight into how schools support young people with different needs, develop your communication and behaviour-support skills, and learn how targeted interventions can help students overcome barriers to learning.

If you're a student or graduate looking to take your first step towards a career supporting children and young people, we'd love to hear from you!
