How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Maths Teacher - Long-Term & Short-Term Opportunities

    Location: Northamptonshire & surrounding areas
    Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Short-term, long-term and ongoing opportunities
    Start Date: September 2026
    Agency: Tradewind Recruitment

Are you a passionate Maths Teacher who wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people who may have faced barriers to education?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for SEN Maths Teachers to work across our network of partner schools and specialist settings. We have a variety of short-term and long-term opportunities available, providing the flexibility to find a role that suits your experience, availability and career goals.

As an SEN Maths Teacher, you will use your strong subject knowledge to make Maths accessible, engaging and achievable for learners with a range of additional needs. You may be supporting pupils who have experienced disrupted education, are working below age-related expectations, or require a more individualised and supportive approach to learning.

The ideal SEN Maths Teacher will:

Have strong Maths subject knowledge and the ability to confidently teach Maths across a range of abilities and age groups.
Have experience working with or supporting vulnerable children, young people or adults, ideally within education, care, mentoring, coaching or a similar setting.
Be confident adapting lessons and using different approaches to engage learners with SEN, SEMH, ASC or other additional needs.
Build positive, trusting relationships with students and provide consistent encouragement and support.
Be patient, resilient and able to remain calm when managing challenging situations.
Have high expectations for every learner while recognising that individual students may require different levels of support.
Be committed to helping students develop not only their Maths skills but also their confidence, independence and wider educational engagement.

    What can Tradewind Recruitment offer?

Working through Tradewind gives you access to a wide range of partner schools and specialist settings, meaning we can match your skills and preferences to suitable opportunities. Whether you're looking for a full-time long-term position, short-term supply work or the opportunity to explore different SEN environments, we can help you find the right setting.

You will also have access to CPD and professional development opportunities, alongside dedicated support from your specialist recruitment consultant throughout your placement.

If you are an enthusiastic Maths educator who wants to use your skills to support vulnerable learners and help young people overcome barriers to education, we'd love to hear from you.
