How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Domestic Heating Engineer
    Up to £45,000 depending on experience | Monday–Friday | 8am–5pm | Permanent PAYE

    Experienced Heating Engineer looking for a stable, long-term role?
    We’re looking for an experienced Gas Safe Registered Domestic Heating Engineer to join an established and growing plumbing and heating business covering South London and Kent.

    With over 40 years in the industry, we have built a strong reputation for quality workmanship, excellent customer service and looking after our people.

    This is a permanent PAYE position, working Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, with a salary of up to £45,000 depending on experience.

    The Role
    You'll carry out a varied mix of domestic heating work, including:

    Boiler servicing and maintenance
    Breakdown diagnosis and fault finding
    Boiler repairs and component replacement
    Boiler installations and replacements
    Central heating repairs and fault finding
    Landlord Gas Safety Checks
    Boiler commissioning and testing
    Planned preventative maintenance
    Identifying additional remedial works
    Providing professional advice to customers
    You'll manage your own jobs while working closely with our Operations team to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.

    What We're Looking For
    We're looking for an engineer who is technically strong, reliable and takes pride in their work.
    You'll need:

    3+ years' experience as a domestic Heating Engineer
    Current Gas Safe Registration with relevant domestic qualifications
    Strong knowledge of domestic boilers and central heating systems
    Good electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
    Proven experience in boiler servicing, repairs and installations
    A good understanding of gas safety and health & safety requirements
    Excellent attention to detail
    Strong communication and customer service skills
    The ability to work independently and manage your workload
    A full UK driving licence
    Experience with Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi and Ideal boilers is desirable.

    Experience with unvented hot water systems, heating upgrades and system installations would also be advantageous.
