How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    HR Assistant

    Department: Human Resources 

    Reporting to: HR Support Manager

    Location: Manchester / UKMC Group Locations 

    Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time 

    Salary: £28,000 per annum 

    Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm (On-site)

    Job Purpose

    The HR Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources and Recruitment teams across UK Management College and the wider Unibridge Group.

    The postholder will play a key role in supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee administration, and compliance activities. Responsibilities include coordinating recruitment processes, scheduling interviews, maintaining employee and candidate records, preparing onboarding documentation, supporting pre-employment checks, and ensuring a positive candidate and employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.

    This role requires a highly organised, proactive, and professional individual who can manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality, and deliver a high standard of administrative support within a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Recruitment Administration

    Support end-to-end recruitment activities across multiple departments.
    Monitor recruitment and HR inboxes and respond to candidate and employee enquiries in a timely manner.
    Attend interviews to take notes, ensure compliance with UKMC policies and respond to basic HR questions.Onboarding Support

    Prepare contracts of employment, and onboarding documentation.
    Coordinate new starter onboarding activities.
    Ensure all employee records are completed and compliant before start dates.
    Assist with induction scheduling and new employee orientation activities.HR Administration

    Support pre-employment checks, including references, right-to-work verification, and background screening where applicable.
    Maintain confidentiality of employee and candidate information.
    Support HR reporting and recruitment metrics.
    Assist with general HR administration.
    Ensure compliance with employment legislation, GDPR, and company policies.Compliance

    Assist with monitoring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
    Maintain confidentiality of employee information at all times.Skills and Experience

    Essential

    Previous administrative experience, ideally within HR or recruitment.
    Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
    Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.Desirable

    CIPD Level 3 qualification or working towards it.
    Previous experience supporting recruitment or onboarding activities.
    Knowledge of employment law and recruitment best practices.
    CIPD qualification (desirable but not essential).Benefits
