How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Talent-UK are recruiting on behalf of their client, a busy manufacturing company based on the outskirts of Dewsbury but also covering the additional site in Morley for a full time, permanent Quality team Leader.

    Job Title: Quality Team Leader
    Salary = £35,000 per annum
    Hours - Full time - 6:00am–2:30pm - Monday to Friday
     
    Role Overview
    The Quality Team Leader will take responsibility for leading quality standards across 2 sites, ensuring issues are identified, reported, investigated, and resolved in a consistent and effective manner.
    The role will focus on maintaining product quality, managing customer complaints, supporting supplier quality concerns, and driving a standardised approach to quality reporting and problem solving across the business.
     
    Key Responsibilities
     
    Quality Management

    Lead and maintain quality standards across both manufacturing sites.
    Ensure both sites are reporting quality issues in the same manner and working to the same standards.
    Support production teams in achieving required product quality standards and customer specifications.
    Monitor quality performance and promote a culture of right first time and continuous improvement. Customer Complaints and Root Cause Investigation

    Manage the customer complaints log and ensure it is kept accurate and up to date.
    Investigate customer complaints thoroughly and identify root cause.
    Work with relevant departments to define corrective and preventive actions.
    Track actions through to completion and verify effectiveness. Supplier Quality 

    Raise external NCRs for the Purchasing team to forward to suppliers.
    Ensure supplier-related non-conformances are clearly documented, supported with evidence, and issued in a timely manner.
    Monitor trends in supplier issues and support improvements where recurring problems are identified.  
    Reporting and Communication

    Produce and publish weekly and monthly quality reports.
    Analyse key quality trends, recurring defects, customer complaints, and site performance.
    Provide clear updates to management on quality issues, actions, and overall performance.
    Chair the bi-weekly site quality meetings and ensure actions are recorded and followed up.  
    Standardisation and Continuous Improvement

    Drive a consistent approach to quality processes, reporting, and problem solving across both sites.
    Support the development and improvement of quality procedures, controls, and documentation.
    Lead the development, documentation, implementation and ongoing ownership of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all areas of the business, ensuring consistency, compliance and operational efficiency.
    Work closely with production, purchasing, and leadership teams to reduce defects and improve quality performance.  
    Key Skills and Experience

    Experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment, 
    Strong understanding of quality control, non-conformance management, and root cause analysis.
    Experience managing customer complaints and supplier quality issues.
    Confident in producing quality reports and presenting findings clearly.
    Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail.
    Effective communicator with the ability to work across departments and sites.
    Able to lead meetings, drive actions, and maintain accountability.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and reporting tools Personal Attributes

    Quality-focused and methodical.
    Strong problem solver.
    Consistent and fair in approach.
    Able to influence standards across teams and sites.
