How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Rate: £54 per hour (£405 P/D) Umbrella PAYE
    Location: Canary Wharf, London
    Contract: Contract

    Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to join a major infrastructure contractor and support the commercial delivery of a significant project?

    Our client is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Canary Wharf, taking responsibility for cost and commercial management across their area of the project.

    Job Role

    As Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with the wider commercial and project teams to manage costs, income and commercial performance while ensuring value for money and maintaining required project standards.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    Managing project costs, income and commercial performance
    Preparing Activity Schedules and Resource Schedules
    Reviewing and analysing tender and contract documentation
    Monitoring subcontractor activities and managing supply-chain commercial matters
    Preparing commercial reports, progress updates and financial reconciliations
    Analysing rates and prices and agreeing variations and compensation events
    Preparing, submitting and negotiating claims
    Reviewing complex contract programmes and supporting delay and disruption assessments
    Supporting procurement programmes and strategy
    Managing commercial relationships with clients, stakeholders and the supply chain
    Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team where required

    Requirements

    Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or major infrastructure
    BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
    Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB, or currently working towards professional membership
    CSCS Professional Qualified Person Card
    Strong cost and commercial management experience
    Experience managing subcontractors and supply-chain packages
    Good understanding of variations, compensation events and claims
    Experience with commercial reporting and financial reconciliation
    Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a major contractor and play a key role within an established commercial team.
