How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you an experienced HR leader who is passionate about creating high-performing, inclusive workplaces where people can thrive?

I am working exclusively with St Giles Trust who are a UK charity that supports people facing poverty, exploitation, violence, homelessness, and involvement with the criminal justice system. Using staff with lived experience, they help individuals overcome challenges, build resilience, and create positive futures through tailored support, advice, training, and employment opportunities. Their mission is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances.

At St Giles Trust, people are at the heart of everything they do. They are looking for an exceptional Head of People Business Partnering to play a pivotal role in shaping our people agenda, partnering with senior leaders across the organisation to build an inclusive culture where colleagues feel supported, empowered and able to perform at their best.

This is an exciting 12 month fixed term opportunity to lead our People Business Partnering team and drive strategic people initiatives across a national organisation with a strong social purpose. Working closely with the Director of People and Culture, you will combine strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, helping their leaders navigate change, develop their teams and deliver excellent people outcomes across the employee lifecycle.

The Head of People Business Partnering role is a part-time position, 4-days per week (28 hours) paying £44,000 pro rata (£55,000 FTE). You will be able to work on a flexible hybrid basis with some national travel. The charity’s London office is located in Camberwell, South East London. The role manages a team of two direct reports and four indirect reports. Some of the key responsibilities include:

    • Leading and developing the People Business Partnering team, ensuring a responsive, customer-focused service that supports colleagues throughout the employee lifecycle.
    • Partnering with senior leaders to develop people strategies that align with organisational priorities, including workforce planning, organisational design and succession planning.
    • Developing and embedding a strategic approach to recruitment and retention, helping St Giles Trust attract and retain talented people.
    • Providing expert advice on complex employee relations matters, including discipline, grievance and organisational change.
    • Supporting leaders through restructures, TUPE, redundancies and wider change programmes, ensuring a consistent and collaborative approach.
    • Leading the governance of job evaluation processes and maintaining accurate job descriptions and people records.
    • Working with colleagues across the wider People team to develop and deliver innovative people initiatives, policies and practices.
    • Managing key contracts, budgets and external partnerships, including employment law support, occupational health and employee assistance services.
    • Using data, external trends and best practice to continually improve our people services and support the delivery of our organisational strategy.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional with a strong background in strategic business partnering and leading high-performing teams. You will have excellent knowledge of employment law, experience advising on complex employee relations cases, TUPE and be confident influencing senior stakeholders. Ideally, you will be CIPD qualified or have equivalent experience with evidence of continuous professional development.

As an organisation that works with children and adults at risk we are committed to safeguarding, protecting and promoting the safety of our clients and successful applicants will be DBS Checked.

The interview process will consist of two stages, with the aim to have someone in post by the 26th October 2026.

Apply now and help shape the future of an organisation with a great purpose and mission.
