How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Fashion Designer - Womenswear

    About Minga London

Minga London is an independent fashion brand founded in East London in 2014.

What started with tie-dye T-shirts dyed in a bathtub in a small East London flat has grown into a global brand with a distinctive aesthetic and cult following.

Inspired by underground culture, music and internet subcultures, Minga creates bold clothing designed for individuality and self-expression. The brand blends alternative fashion with contemporary streetwear, building collections around strong visual identities, graphic storytelling and distinctive silhouettes.

With over 1 million followers across social media, Minga continues to evolve at the intersection of fashion, youth culture and digital communities.

    Role Overview

We are looking for a Fashion Designer to join Minga’s womenswear design team, working across all product categories with a strong focus on tops.

You will be involved in the full design process, from research and initial concepts through to sampling, fittings and final product, creating pieces that feel distinctive to Minga while remaining relevant, commercial and right for our customer.

This role requires strong fashion instinct, a clear understanding of youth culture and trends, and the ability to turn ideas into strong product at pace. You should be equally comfortable developing new silhouettes and details, reacting to emerging trends and using product performance to identify new opportunities.

You will work closely with our Creative, Buying, Production and Merchandising teams and directly with suppliers throughout the development process.

The position works closely with our head office in Portugal and requires regular in-person collaboration. Candidates should either be open to relocating to Portugal or be able to travel to our Portugal office regularly each month.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design womenswear across multiple categories, with a strong focus on tops
    • Research emerging fashion, cultural and consumer trends and translate them into relevant product for the Minga customer
    • Develop concepts, silhouettes, colour palettes, fabrics, trims and product details
    • Create original designs, CADs, technical drawings and detailed tech packs
    • Work directly with suppliers throughout sampling and development to achieve the intended design, fit and finish
    • Attend fittings, review samples and provide clear fit, construction and development comments
    • Take ownership of styles from initial concept through to final approval
    • Review best sellers, slow sellers and wider product performance to identify opportunities for new styles and developments
    • Balance trend-led ideas, commercial opportunities and distinctive brand product
    • Work closely with Buying, Production, Merchandising and Creative to build cohesive and commercially strong collections
    • Participate in supplier, sourcing and research trips when required

    Requirements

    • 4+ years of experience in womenswear fashion design, ideally within a fast-paced fashion brand
    • Strong experience designing tops, with a good understanding of fit, fabrication, construction and proportion
    • A strong portfolio demonstrating creative design ability and commercially relevant product
    • Experience designing across multiple womenswear categories
    • Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills
    • Confident creating CADs, technical drawings and detailed tech packs for factories
    • Good knowledge of fabrics, trims, garment construction and manufacturing processes
    • Experience reviewing samples, attending fittings and communicating amendments to suppliers
    • Strong understanding of current fashion, emerging trends, youth culture and the wider market
    • Commercial awareness and the ability to use product performance to inform design
    • Able to work quickly across multiple collections, drops and deadlines
    • Fluent professional English

    Personal Attributes

    • Strong creative instinct and a distinctive eye for product
    • Naturally curious about fashion, music, culture and what is happening next
    • Highly aware of fit, proportion, detail and fabrication
    • Fast, proactive and comfortable taking ownership
    • Commercially aware while still willing to push product creatively
    • Collaborative, organised and open to feedback
    • Strong understanding of Minga’s aesthetic and customer

    Location & Working Model

This is a hybrid role working closely with Minga’s head office in Portugal.

Candidates may be based in Portugal or relocate to Portugal. We are also open to candidates based elsewhere who are able to travel regularly to our Portugal head office each month for design meetings, fittings, range reviews and other key moments.

For candidates based outside Portugal, required travel to our Portugal head office will be covered by Minga.

Regular in-person collaboration with the team is an essential part of the role.

    Benefits

    • Hybrid work arrangements
    • 50% employee discount on Minga products
    • Access to a benefits program with gradual unlocks, including health insurance, a free birthday day and an extra day off per year
